Another wonderful cover set, Cap'n. And such a coincidence that I put up a Denison Witmer coverpost with the same gorgeous Red House Painters cover just today! Great minds...
great minds think alike indeed. i definitely dig denison's version, though nothing touches the original songs for a blue guitar version.
The Ava Quigley and Jonna Lee tracks are, in a word - exquisite. Perfect song choices for them both....I think this is the best covers comp. yet!
I'm ok with the Witmer song, too, if only because it reminds me how truly brilliant Mark Kozelek is.
Thanks for the post! I'm really digging the "Modern Romance" cover, and that Tracy Chapman cover by Xiu Xiu is one of my absolute favourites.
