It's not Guns & Roses without Slash. That is all. -- Cap
So I love wearing winter clothes, but I don't do well with cold weather. While it's fun to break out that vintage jean-jacket I picked up in Asheville for a cool $15, the cold seeps into my bones and my hands and feet are never warm. Must be bad circulation. Anyway, our friends at Speed Of Dark offer up a generous handful of November-related tunes including the always classic "Mr. November" by The National.
Sandy over at Slowcoustic has a great thing going with his impressive new(ish) blog. If sparse, sad bastard music is your thing (Lord knows it's mine) then this site has you covered. Check out some tracks from Colby Stead, who has posted a wealth of material available for download on his website. Make a donation... or don't. You're the one who has to live with yourself.
Hey, I'm onto you. Yeah, you! I know there's a section of CO readers that only come here for the covers mixtapes and couldn't care less about my senseless ramblings. So be it! If covers are all you care about, then check out Cover Lay Down and Blowin' Your Cover.
Aquarium Drunkard comes through with some Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash tracks recorded on three separate occasions in 1969. Just two heavyweight songwriters makin' magic. That sounded wrong. Oh well, check it out.
I just had to do this. One of my best friends recently took up juggling, and since he recently ran the San Francisco marathon, it only made sense to combine his two passions. What do you have when you combine the two? JOGGLING! Yeah, I'm not even kidding. Apparently my buddy Joe is gaining some cred in the underground joggling community. He recently did an online interview. I took the photo of him in the mask. Man, I love how weird my friends are.

Cap doesn't dig the cold weather... My homemade remedy: pick up three juggling balls, go for a cool joggle, while listening to The National's Fake Empire and Sigur Ros' Saeglopur. It's a treat for the senses like no other.
Thanks for the props, Cap. It ain't easy for a joggler these days, gotta keep those balls up in the cold air.
Ah, Cap'n. Your covermixes, they make me wish I, too, was so adept at letting the music speak for itself. And your words are always so kind, honest, and targeted. Kudos, man, and thanks for the nod.
PS: As if you needed further evidence of your tastemastery, Boingboing noticed the Aquarium Drunkard find, too. Maybe they saw it here first?
LOL @ joggling! I want to see a youtube on that. Thanks for the mention, Cap! Stay warm now, hear?
