Alcoholic Faith Mission

You Should Know

Copenhagen's Alcoholic Faith Mission is a band that utilizes many different textures. Started by Thorben Seiero Jenson and Sune Solund and now expanded to a five-piece, the band can go from organic, acoustic folk to loud, Arcade Fire-esque choruses, to electronic-dominated fare, sometimes all in the span of one song. While it makes genre categorization a bit tricky, it's the band's purposeful use of warring elements that makes their upcoming album Let This Be The Last Night We Care (due out April 27th on Paper Garden Records) so interesting. The album even varies thematically from uplifting to downright depressing. "Sobriety Up And Left" reads like an outcry for intervention: "I heard your call, but I was coughing up blood." Kristine Permild adds yet another element with her interesting vocals, which add depth both as a backup or as primary vocalist on the track "Closer To Dallas." Good music that'll appeal to a wide range of listeners. -- Capt. Obvious
